Wij, de studentenactivistengroep van LUCA, organiseren een blocking op maandag 24 november om aandacht te vragen voor Palestina en druk uit te oefenen op de school, die nog steeds financiële banden heeft met Israël.

Wij vragen dat LUCA, als associatiepartner van KU Leuven, de volgende concrete stappen neemt: 

- Een expliciet standpunt innemen en communiceren via de officiële kanalen.

- Ook inactieve en passieve academische samenwerkingen, projectaanvragen en akkoorden tussen LUCA School of Arts en Israëlische universiteiten en hogescholen opschorten, en bij de KU Leuven aankaarten dat associatiebreed alle academische samenwerkingen met Israëlische partners stopgezet worden. We vragen deze beslissing publiek te communiceren.

- Op het niveau van Vlaamse Hogenscholenraad bij de minister van Buitenlandse Zaken aandringen op een onmiddelijke opschorting van het Associatieverdrag met Israël.

- Economische maatregelen treffen, waaronder het boycotten van producten uit illegale nederzettingen en producten die directe financiële banden hebben met illegale nederzettingen.

- Een fundraisingactie opstarten en ondersteunen binnen de LUCA-gemeenschap ten voordele van humanitaire hulp in Palestina en voor Palestijnse vluchtelingen.

- Ondersteuning bieden aan LUCA studenten die leed ondervinden als gevolg van het geweld in Gaza.

ENGLISH:

We, the student activist group of LUCA, are organising a blocking on monday 24 November to raise awareness for Palestine and to pressure the school, that still has financiel ties to Israel.

We ask that LUCA, as a member of the KU Leuven Association, take the following concrete steps: 

- Take and communicate an explicit position vie official channel.

- Also suspend inactive and passive academic collaborations, project applications, and agreements between LUCA School of Arts and Israeli universities and academies, and raise the issue at KU Leuven that all academic collaborations with Israeli partners be discontinued across the association. We request that this decision be communicated publicly.

- At the level of the Flemish Council of University Colleges, urge the Minister of Foreign Affairs to immediately suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement.

- Implement economic measures, including a boycott of products from illegal settlements and products that have immediate ties to illegal settlements.

- Launch and support a fundraising campaign within the LUCA community to support humanitarian aid in Palestine and tosupport Palestinian refugees.

- Provide support to LUCA students affected by the violence in Gaza.
